I'M IN! TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO KNOW
Taking on any of these 3 courses isn't for the faint of heart. If you haven't already, please check out the Course info page. The race does have a maximum capacity. We will keep you informed on how this is split across the distances.
If you have your heart set on tackling the 100 mile or 50 mile distance you do need to qualify. See below.
The 20 mile distance is also not something to be taken on lightly, it is still tough! You will be able to register without qualifying when entries open on the 1st of July 2021.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
HONESTLY, IT ISN'T GOING TO BE CHEAP, WITH A COURSE LIKE THIS, WE WON'T BE CUTTING CORNERS.
CAN I HELP OUT ON THE RACE?
YES! IF YOU ARE SUPPORTING A RUNNER OR JUST WANT TO GET INVOLVED GET IN TOUCH!
THIS IS A BIG OPERATION AND WE WOULD LOVE YOUR SUPPORT

QUALIFICATION & TIMELINE
2o Mile
Entry into the 20 mile is open to everyone who wants to give it a go. As long as you are capable, healthy and prepared.
50 & 100 Mile
Entry to the 50 and 100 mile events will be subject to pre-approval. This will work as follows:
Stage 1: Apply for you Warrant of Wildness.
Stage 2: Your application will be reviewed and a Warrant of Wildness that includes a unique approval code will be sent to you if the organisers consider you to be suitably experienced/qualified for the race distance of their choice. If you are not deemed to meet the minimum requirements you will be offered a spot in a shorter distance option.
Stage 3: You can enter the event.
* Participation in both the 50 and 100 mile races carries significant risk for those who do not have the skills and experience to deal with the nature of the events and the terrain that they will encounter. We will be looking for evidence of:
-
Endurance – your ability to last the distance (based on running history – both in and outside of organised events)
-
Back Country experience (past activities that display an ability to be self-reliant in remote mountain areas in any conditions, including night travel)
-
Navigational skills (at least a basic level of know-how)
Each application will be dealt with on a personal level. While maintaining a ‘safety first’ philosophy we still want to encourage people to (safely) push their own limits and will therefore advise those whose applications are not initially successful what they need to do to acquire the skills and experience before re-applying.

MANDATORY KIT
The below is the standard mandatory kit that must be carried for the duration of the race. This kit will be confirmed 1 month out. Weather forecasts may also require us to ask you to have further kit. We will give you as much notice as we can, likely 4-5 days.
